Puerto Vallarta Budget for Indulgence

Puerto Vallarta is a great vacation destination.  For anyone with a healthy budget, it can be an AMAZING vacation destination.  With luxury villas, private tours, and world renowned restaurants, there is no limit to what Puerto Vallarta has to offer, if you can afford it.

It’s no secret that the world economy is in a bit of a slump.  With decreasing budgets, travel has decreased as well, but there are still those with bulging wallets or just a little extra money who are taking advantage of the discounted rates many tourist destinations are offering.

If you’re planning a vacation with a budget lower than that of Donald Trump but higher than Jed Clampett (before the bubblin’ crude, that is) you might put some of these locations and activities on your itinerary; all offer you the opportunity to splurge without having to take out a second mortgage.

To begin your planning, you’ll need a great place to stay.  You can’t beat Villa La Estancia for reasonably priced luxury accommodations.  With private balconies looking out to Banderas Bay, and a 5 star resort feel, these privately owned condos will make you feel like a king (or queen) without having to have access to the royal vault.  Villa La Estancia offers both 2 and 3 bedroom villas with a range of rates but all have all the amenities of home.  Check out their website (vallartalaestancia.com) or call (310) 577-8600 and allow Giovanni to help find the right villa for you and your budget.

Now that you’re in Puerto Vallarta, enjoying the comforts of your own private villa, you’ll probably want something special to do.  For those not content to lounge on the beach all day, consider a private tour.  This is a nice step up from the normal tourist fare.  For practically anything you want to do, (snorkeling, sailing, exploring, etc.) you can find a company that offers it on a private basis.

After all that fun, you’re going to be hungry.  There isn’t a shortage of quality restaurants in Puerto Vallarta but if you’re going to have one special meal out, go to Cafe? des Artistes.  This is one of the most well known and popular restaurants in the area and there’s certainly a reason for that.  Cafe? des Artistes is run by chef-owner Thierry Blouet who skillfully takes his French culinary training and combines it with the local flavors resulting in delicious cuisine you’re not soon likely to forget.  When you mix the food with the atmosphere and the friendly service, it makes such an impression that you will always make sure to budget for a meal at Cafe? des Artistes on future vacations.

It is completely possible to travel to Puerto Vallarta on a tight budget.  The amazing scenery alone is worth the trip, but if you can afford to splurge in a few areas, make them count.  Make sure where you’re staying is a quality place, take part in some memorable local activities, and treat yourself to at least one really amazing meal.
