Kobe Bryant - 2009 NBA Champion

In a postgame interview with Kobe Bryant, right after the Laker’s 15th championship win, Kobe was asked where he’d be going to celebrate his win.  His answer was not the standard, “Disneyland,” but something a little more exotic, a little more adult; Cabo San Lucas.  And, as great as Mickey Mouse is, really, it makes sense that the NBA Finals MVP would prefer the sun and the sand to screaming kids and lines (ok, I doubt Kobe has to wait in line, but you get the point).  Who wouldn’t want to go to Cabo?  Everyone knows that Cabo San Lucas, Mexico is beautiful but what you might not realize is that you don’t need an NBA paycheck to go there.

Thanks to our current economic slump, travel has dropped considerably.  This is actually good news for anyone who can afford to travel right now because you can find amazing deals on accommodations as well as flights. Alaska Airlines, for example, is offering a 25% off coupon for those who book by tomorrow for travel from June 16th to October 31st.

If you’re lucky enough to be employed at the moment and maybe even have a few extra dollars to spare on a vacation, check out some of the numerous offers  available now.  After all, if there is an upside to these hard times, shouldn’t you take advantage of it?
